Philly Experiences: Morals + Murals: Tales from Our Hood

Did you know that Philadelphia is still a majority BIPOC city?!

Morals & Murals: Tales From Our Hood Experience is the perfect way to get introduced to Philly's hood culture through the "Day in the Life' lens of a native.

The African American History museum, 4th of July's Welcome America events, Philly cheesesteak, LOVE Park, Rocky statue are well known attractions that is apart of the city's overall culture when you visit Philly and including them in your itinerary is typical for most first time visitors but this city is sooo much more than one section of the city. Philly is such a great affordable destination only two hours from NYC and three from DC making it the perfect medium for longer workations and vacations!

Tourism has brought in an average of 6 billion dollars each year pre-pandemic...Guess how much of that made it to our Black & Latinx communities in a city where the minimum wage is STILL $7.25/hour in 2021?! ...we'll wait. With over 60 percent of the residents being non-white, here at Philly Experiences, we believe that all visitors and locals deserve to immerse themselves and direct their hard earned vacation dollars into whatever culture they choose!

Morals + Murals: Tales from Our Hood tour satisfies the craving for a more authentic exploration of Black culture (with an intentional focus on the hood) within an immersive three hour one of a kind educational experience that promotes, unity, individual and collective healing plus up to 90 percent of the proceeds stay in the hood!  This experience is available every week for solo travelers and small groups!

Morals + Murals: Tales of Our Hood Experience runs from February through November (weather permitting).

READ WHAT OUR GUESTS TURNED LIFELONG FRIENDS HAD TO SAY

La India, Philly

..Chrissy was an amazing tour guide and beautiful inside and out. She shared her own personal stories that allowed us to connect with her and also understand the life of many Philadelphians. Being from the Philadelphia area, I was familiar with the neighborhoods we visited, but I was not aware of the specific history and art that Chrissy was able to point out to us.

Erica, USA

Great experience that we wouldn't have been able to do on our own. Perfect experience if you want to see the non-touristy parts of the city. We loved it and are still talking about it!

Trinity, NYC

Chrissy is an amazing story teller. I felt like I was being taken on a climatic journey as we walked through the streets of the Philly. I was amazed by the beauty and talent showcased in murals which decorate the hoods of Philly.
