About the event
Black culture is alive on 52nd Street (West Philly), where every wall tells a story and every block holds a piece of Black history. This storytelling experience takes you beyond your boring sightseeing tour — it’s an one of a kind cultural experience. Together, we’ll uncover the powerful intersections of Black existence, Black resistance, and Black joy, preserved through vibrant street art and community voices.
Together, we’ll trace the Black roots of Mural Arts Philadelphia, explore the brilliance of artists like Paris Stancell and Wale Oyijede, and witness how Black street art continues to flip the script and change the narrative. Along the way, we’ll shop in the city’s oldest Black-owned bookstore and a thriving community marketplace, both anchors of resilience and preservation. Locally loved snacks/treats are included. All locations are subject to availability.
This private and custom walking tour happens rain or shine.
